James Kenneth Logan was born in Quenemo, KS, in 1929 and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1952. He received his law degree from Harvard University in 1955 and served as Professor (1957-1968) and Dean (1961-1968) at the University of Kansas School of Law. After nine years of private practice in Kansas, he was nominated by President Carter and subsequently received his commission as a judge to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
